Below is some videos of races I did in the Playstation Plus edition of DriveClub. Really the PSPlus edition is a free demo of full version giving you limited cars to play with and a handful of tracks located all around the world to race on.
It’s a great way to bring it to people like me that didn’t buy in on Driveclub during its first release. I read and watched to many impartial reviews and since I do 99% of my sim racing on PC I decided against picking it up initially.
I’m happy to say I’m actually enjoying Driveclub on my PS4. I have not tried it yet with my Fanatec Clubsport wheel yet, but flogging it around with the g
So yes, Driveclub doesn’t feel like a simulation racer to me at all, but more like a simcad leaning heavier to the arcade racer side. Yes I’m using a gamepad so my impression may change slightly, but I’m sure it will still feel like a arcade racer. That’s not really a bad thing to me. It’s a great mix of the two really making for a fun racing experience like you might expect from Grid Autosport or Forza Horizon. Driveclub is a racing game I can fire up when I don’t feel like muscling around my Fanatec wheel. That’s not to say you can’t have fun with your racing wheel though as it does accept wheel control. I plan on checking DriveClub out with my Fanatec wheel and let ya know what I think about the feedback. Until then check out some gameplay videos that I had fun racing around with. I think I might just buy the full version since it’s currently on sale in the Playstation Store for $24.99 Good job Evolution Studios! I’m having fun!
