Just wanted to throw out a couple of fun gameplays I had with Project Cars 2 before I finish the review. This gameplay is on PC with a Fanatec Clubsport V2 wheel, V3 pedals, V1.5 shifter and handbrake on my Simetik K2 rig running in 3440 x 1440p on the Acer Predator X34.
Project Cars 2 is a huge game for sure with awesome graphics, much improved physics and tire models along with a wide variety of cars and tracks. Not to mention dynamic weather I actually enjoy driving in now compared to Project Cars 1. Check out some gameplay
Both of these vids show to me at least while driving the control I now have with my car and the ease I have with controlling the car when it steps out with a fast car like the McLaren and a slower car like the Ginetta. Both are great examples of this sim.
First 2 laps in the Mclaren are with stability and traction control off. The car rearend steps out under heavy loads now compared to PCARs 1 just steeping out when loosing total grip not being able to save it. I’m easily able to control my sliding now with the new tire models. Very impressive!
The Ginetta at Snetteron was a blast. In particular the long right hand turn before the left to the front straight. When locked into this turn I’m able to feel the level of grip with my front tires and able to dance between sliding the front end and maintaining grip thru the turn which really makes me become faster giving me all the feedback I need.
If you haven’t tried Project Cars 2 and your a sim racer, well… You really should get it. It’s a huge improvement over Project Cars 1 with the core mechanics being fixed totally. I also hear the controller is much improved as well and I’m not even going into the sound and graphical improvements let alone the amount of shear content.
Stay tuned for more to come..
See ya on the Track!
